Safety Information
While we are anxious to show you the time of your life, safety is our number one concern. Therefore every flight is subject to cancellation until you actually lift off at the sole discretion of your pilot.
We know what a disappointment an aborted flight is especially if you’ve planned this for awhile. And if it happens to be a special occasion it can really be a let down. Keep in mind, we don’t get paid if we don’t fly, and this is what we do for a living. But even a minor mishap can ruin your special day. We have a perfect safety record for over 25 years we’ve been doing this and plan to keep it that way, for your benefit and ours!!
BALLOONS ARE CONSIDERED AIRCRAFT AND ARE REGULATED, AS ARE THE PILOTS, BY THE FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION.
PILOTS: Our pilots are among the finest, not to mention, the most experienced to be found. They are, of course, licensed commercial pilots/instructors, and have in their own right perfect safety records. We are very selective about our pilots; they have far more than the FAA required experience in ballooning.
They must also have excellent people skills. Each has entertained thousands while airborne and landed safely each time,
BALLOONS: We operate a fleet of the most modern balloons available. When we purchase new equipment safety is our main consideration which necessitates extra expense to get features from the manufacturers that produce the best product available. Once in use they must pass an inspection as required by the FAA every 100 hours of flight or one calendar year, whichever comes first. At that time, we require all testing to be completed with more stringent standards than necessary per the FAA.
Prior to each launch, the weather is verified from several sources plus careful on site inspection by all pilots. All equipment is thoroughly examined while being setup. Every single aspect is checked then double checked,
As you can see, while there is a certain amount of risk inherent in ballooning as there is with any activity, we take every precaution possible–and then some. From the careful selection of our pilots to the high quality of equipment we utilize, to the ever ongoing checking-out of all equipment. While it is not a requirement, we carry the highest level of insurance available in the industry.
